Public Assistance Requested – Missing Person Steven YIP
Richmond: On May 06, 2013, Richmond RCMP received a call from concerned family members of a male identified as Kiem Cuong “Steven” YIP.
Mr. YIP’s family has not seen or heard from him since April 20, 2013. His last known whereabouts was in the Richmond area where he resides.
Due to evidence and information received to date, Mr. YIP’s disappearance is suspicious in nature and investigators believe he has met with foul play.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called in to lead this missing person investigation with the assistance of the Richmond RCMP.
“Missing person investigations, where foul play is suspected, is part of IHIT’s mandate, therefore, IHIT has been called in to lead this investigation. So as to protect the investigation, details surrounding why it is believed to be suspicious will not be released at this time, “says Sgt. Jennifer Pound
Steven YIP is described as a 45 year old male, 5’6”, 130lbs, slim build with brown eyes and short dark hair. A photo is attached.
Investigators are also looking to locate Mr. YIP’s vehicle. It is a grey 2003 Toyota Corolla 4 door sedan bearing BC licence plate 712TTH. A similar vehicle photo is attached for reference.
