STOLEN VEHICLE - SUSPECT AT LARGE - 12 Mile Flats, Revelstoke

12-22-2013 - At approximately 0530 hrs on 2013-12-19 a stolen vehicle was located in Revelstoke. The vehicle fled when police attempted to stop. The vehicle was located a short time later abandoned at the 12 Mile Flats which is at the end of Airport Road.

The female occupant was located and is charged with several property offences. The male driver was not located and after an exhaustive search involving many police officers, the Police Dog Service and RCMP air support by helicopter, the male subject was still not located.

Police are now seeking a male, Joshua JEFFS, age 23, who is described as 5'11", 160 lbs, with brown hair and eyes with several tattoos on his arms.

The police are seeking any information regarding JEFFS.

ROBBERY - Shell Service Station Revelstoke


09-17-2013 - On Thursday December 19, 2013 at 11:42 P.M. a Caucasian Adult male entered the Shell Service Station located at, 1840 Trans Canada Highway in Revelstoke, BC.

The unknown culprit demanded money or would cause harm to the teller.  The culprit fled the store on foot towards the McDonalds restaurant located across the street.

ATTEMPTED BREAK AND ENTER - 700 block of Mackenize Ave


09-17-2013 - September 17, 2013 shortly after 9:00 P.M. a homeowner in the 700 block of Mackenzie Avenue was startled by a suspect attempting to gain access to his residence by going through his backdoor. 

The suspect fled southbound on foot at which time the homeowner followed on his bicycle. 

The homeowner happened to come across the suspect who appeared to be trying to conceal himself by remaining still, while seated on a large rock in a neighboring yard. 

After being detected, the suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction at which time the Revelstoke RCMP were notified. 

RCMP circulated the neighborhood and canvassed local businesses to keep a watchful eye out for the suspect described as:  an adult male, in his 20's, 6 foot, 215 pounds, an athletic build, short dark hair, wearing a dark colored hoody and dark colored pants.

Revelstoke RCMP are advising the public to ensure they lock their doors and windows, especially at night and when leaving your residence unattended.  For additional security purposes, they encourage you to have appropriate lighting for both inside and outside your residence. 

Revelstoke RCMP recommend that you do not approach the suspect in cases like this one and to contact them immediately by dialing 911 or calling the Revelstoke Detachment at 250 837 5255.

BRIANNE WOLGRAM - 15 YEARS LATER

From 'Missing Children Society of Canada':

- Brianne was last seen on Saturday September 5, 1998 between 11:00 p.m. and 11:30 pm at the 7-Eleven store in Revelstoke, BC. She was driving her black 1989 Acura Integra, which had distinctive gold rims and was bearing BC license plates GMN 661. Brianne's vehicle was found 5 days later on a logging road south of Revelstoke. -

VANDALISM - 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt

07-15-2013 - Sometime between 11:30 P.M. and 06:00 A.M. on Monday July 15, 2013, an unknown culprit deliberately ran on top the hood and roof of a 2006 Purple Chevrolet Cobalt which was parked in the 600 block of Barry Road in Revelstoke BC. 

Damage was sustained not only t o the hood and roof, but to the front grill and bumper as well.  Cost to repair is estimated at over a  $1,000.

VANDALISM - Revelstoke Lodge

06-15-2013 - Sometime in the early morning hours on Saturday June 15, 2013 unknown culprit(s) caused extensive damage to a Silver 2004 Audi AA4 that was parked at the Revelstoke Lodge located at 601 West 1 Street in Revelstoke, BC. 

The damage to the hood is estimated at $2,500.  Revelstoke RCMP believe a chair had been thrown from the upper balcony and landed on this vehicle.

Suspects may be from either BC or Alberta.

VANDALISM - 400 Block of Third Street East


06-04-2013 - Sometime prior to 2:15 AM on Saturday June 1, 2013 the Revelstoke RCMP attended to the 400 block of 3rd Street East in Revelstoke, where three males believed to be between 15 and 17 years of age and wearing hoodies, had literally ran on top of vehicles parked along the this street. 

These males were last seen Eastbound on 4th Street. 


Cost of the damage is still being assessed.

BREAK IN - THEFT from Revelstoke Residence


2013-05-11 - Sometime between Monday April 22, 2013 and Saturday May 11, 2013 unknown culprit(s) broke into a residence located in the 400 block of Moss Street in Revelstoke, BC.  Once inside culprit(s) had stolen jewelry, a Gateway laptop and cash.
 
What is unique about the money stolen is that it consists of several one and two dollar bills. 

In addition, a 1930's ten dollar bill as well as a 1920's twenty dollar bill.  It is likely that culprit(s) will use this money that is now considered rare.

MISSING - RICHMOND, BC - Kiem Coung "Steven" YIP

Public Assistance Requested – Missing Person Steven YIP

Richmond:  On May 06, 2013, Richmond RCMP received a call from concerned family members of a male identified as Kiem Cuong “Steven” YIP.

Mr. YIP’s family has not seen or heard from him since April 20, 2013.  His last known whereabouts was in the Richmond area where he resides. 

Due to evidence and information received to date, Mr. YIP’s disappearance is suspicious in nature and investigators believe he has met with foul play.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called in to lead this missing person investigation with the assistance of the Richmond RCMP.

“Missing person investigations, where foul play is suspected, is part of IHIT’s mandate, therefore, IHIT has been called in to lead this investigation.  So as to protect the investigation, details surrounding why it is believed to be suspicious will not be released at this time, “says Sgt. Jennifer Pound

Steven YIP is described as a 45 year old male, 5’6”, 130lbs, slim build with brown eyes and short dark hair.  A photo is attached.

Investigators are also looking to locate Mr. YIP’s vehicle.  It is a grey 2003 Toyota Corolla 4 door sedan bearing BC licence plate 712TTH.  A similar vehicle photo is attached for reference.

TELEPHONE SCAM

2013-04-30 - On Tuesday April 30, 2013 at 2:45 P.M. Revelstoke RCMP received a complaint with respect to an unknown female calling the complainant, requesting a large sum of money to pay for their Grandson who was injured as a result of a motor vehicle accident.  Although this is not the case, the unknown female is hoping to convince the complainant to send cash by way of money transfer and therefore defraud the complainant.


Typically these types of caller(s) prey on Seniors and target areas where they know there is access to a local money transfer type of business.


RCMP are encouraging the public to use diligence when requested to send cash and or cheques as well as money orders.  The caller is hoping you will send the cash immediately and will try their best to convince you that it is urgent.. 


RCMP cannot stress enough that you should not wire money to a stranger and some of the ways to avoid money transfer scams are;  anyone who insists payment be made by a transfer, someone advertising an apartment or vacation rental online, an online love interest asking for money, and as mentioned, someone claiming to be a relative in desperate need of money by saying their in an accident, need to be bailed out of jail and generally their in some form of trouble and do not want the rest of the family to know about it.

VANDALISM - Toyota Tercel, 8 Mile South of Revelstoke





2013-04-07 - Sometime between the hours of 9:00 p.m. on Saturday March 6 and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday March 7, unknown culprit(s) vandalized a red 1994 Toyota Tercel that had broken down at 8 Mile.
 
Unknown culprit(s) smashed the car windows, stomped on the roof and hood and dented the car doors, causing approximately $3,000 in damages.

STOLEN - Snowmobile & Equipment, Golden B.C.

2013-03-23 - On the morning of March 23, 2013 between 0400 and 0600 hrs a snowmobile and a quantity of snowmobile gear was stolen from a vehicle in the Golden area. 
 
The truck had broken down on the Hwy 1, when the driver returned with the tow his snowmobile and gear was missing.  Please be on the lookout for the following items.

1.) 2012 Summit X Ski Doo 800 (similar to photo - photo NOT actual snowmobile), 163 CM track, Black with yellow highlights VIN #2BPSUNCDXCV000033 See the attached photo

2.) KLIM Gear bag full of KLIM clothing, helmut, vest etc.

3.) SKI Doo riding back pack with avalanche gear.

THEFT - Purse from Coopers Foods

2013-03-09 - On Saturday March 9, 2013 just after 2:00 p.m. a ladies purse with contents was stolen from a shopping cart at the Coopers Food Store located at, 5-555 Victoria Road in Revelstoke, BC.
 
Video surveillance footage captures the culprit described as a Caucasian male, in his mid to late twenties, with a shaved head and a goatee, wearing blue jeans, dark shoes and a black hoody with large silk-screened, white numbers, "686" on the front. This culprit is carrying the stolen purse which is green in color with a daisy flower design on it.

This culprit was observed with a unknown Caucasian female, believed to be in her twenties, with long dark hair, checkered pajama styled pants and a dark winter jacket with a hood.

Both culprits fled in what is believed to be a newer model Ford Focus and last suspected headed Eastbound on the Trans-Canada Highway toward Golden, BC.

STOLEN - Skidoo Snowmobiles

2012-12-30 -During the late night of December 30, early morning of the 31st, unknown persons stole an Alberta registered flat deck trailer containing 2 snowmobiles from the Sandman Inn area. 

A black / blue 2010 Skidoo Summit and a black 2011 Skidoo Summit are missing.
